Series of activities organized under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan across Anantnag

ANANTNAG, JUNE 16: In a concerted effort to combat substance abuse among youth, Youth Services and Sports (YSS), in collaboration with the Education department Anantnag, organized a series of impactful activities under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan across various educational institutions in the district.

Campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and community members. Activities conducted during the day included awareness rallies, interactive sessions, essay writing and debate competitions, as well as pledge-taking ceremonies, all aimed at sensitizing participants about the grave consequences of drug abuse.

The primary objective of the campaign was to educate young minds about the harmful effects of substance abuse on individual health, families, and society at large, and to empower them to act as ambassadors of change within their communities.

Special awareness sessions were conducted by subject experts, teachers, and even students, during which real-life stories and case studies were shared to illustrate the dangers of addiction and the importance of preventive measures.

District administration underscored the need for community-driven action against drug abuse and urged educational institutions to continue their awareness efforts by establishing early intervention systems to identify and support at-risk individuals.

More awareness programmes have been scheduled on selected focus days to ensure sustained public engagement and outreach under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.
