Rotary Club of Kashmir Delivers Critical Aid to Flood Victims, Highlights Global Mission of Service

Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir – [21/09/2025] – The Rotary Club of Kashmir, under Hum 4 Humanity Relief Mission launched by Rotary District 3070 provided essential aid to communities severely affected by recent floods in the region. A team of senior Rotary leaders, led by Rotary Governor 3070 (Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, JK & Ladakh).
Rtn. Rohit Oberoi, personally distributed daily necessity kits and assessed the damage in numerous affected areas.

During his interaction with the flood victims, District Governor Rtn. Rohit Oberoi underscored the unwavering commitment of Rotary International to serve communities in crisis. “In times of such adversity, Rotary’s global network stands ready to help,” Governor Oberoi stated. “From local disasters to international humanitarian projects, our 1.4 million members worldwide are united by the principle of ‘Service Above Self & Unite for Good.’ Our presence here today is a testament to our commitment to the people of Kashmir, and we will continue to support both immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts.
The relief mission saw the participation of key Rotary leaders, including Assistant Governor Sameer Wazir; President of the Rotary Club of Kashmir, Jagjit Singh; Secretary Dr. Touseef Ahmed; and Treasurer Adil Shah. They were joined by active members Rtn. Gowhar Bhat, Rtn. Abrar Khan, and Rtn. Jatinder Singh Kamboj in distributing vital supplies and visiting the flood-ravaged areas.

Echoing the District Governor’s sentiments, Club Secretary Dr. Touseef Ahmed reinforced the core ethos of the organization. “Helping others is the main motto of Rotary International,” said Dr. Ahmed. “Our sole purpose today is to provide a glimmer of hope and tangible support to those who have lost so much. This distribution drive is a crucial first step, and we are mobilizing our resources for sustained assistance.”

The team distributed relief packages containing food staples, clean water, Solar Lgjtsclothing, and other essential household items to alleviate the immediate hardships faced by the displaced families.
