Property Of A Terrorist Associate Attached In Shopian

Srinagar, March 03:(GNS):Police on Monday said that in a significant step towards combating terrorism, Police in Shopian has attached a double-storied residential property belonging to Ilyas Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Shafi Dar resident of Wandina Melhoura. The attachment was carried out under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA).

In a handout to GNS, the police said that the property registered under Khasra No. 115 in Wandina village, is valued at Rs. 24,09221/. The attachment has been officially recorded in the revenue records, and the necessary legal notices prohibiting its sale or transfer have been duly issued under the provisions of the UAPA.

The spokesman further stated that this action is linked to Case FIR No. 94/2024 of Police Station Zainapora and was executed in the presence of a duly constituted police team and the Executive Magistrate, ensuring full compliance with legal procedures.

The attachment marks a significant milestone in the ongoing crackdown on unlawful and subversive activities in the region. It underscores the firm commitment of Shopian Police to neutralizing threats to national security and maintaining peace and order, he said.

Police in close coordination with other agencies, remains resolute in taking stringent action against individuals and entities involved in activities that endanger national sovereignty and integrity, reads the statement.(GNS)
