Prime Minister Modi Takes Oath for Third Term in 18th Lok Sabha

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the oath as a member of the 18th Lok Sabha on Monday, marking his third consecutive term in office. Modi, along with his Council of Ministers, had previously taken the oath on June 9.

Modi, who retained the Varanasi seat which he has been winning since 2014, was the first to take the oath as the Leader of the House. This continued his leadership in the Lok Sabha, reaffirming his strong mandate from the electorate.

Earlier in the day, B Mahtab also took the oath as a member of the new House and was sworn in as the pro-tem speaker at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
