OGW arrested, arms & ammunition recovered in Bandipora

Bandipora, June 21 (JKNS) : Security forces arrested an Over Ground Worker (OGW) of a terrorist outfit and recovered arms and ammunition in the Ketsun Binlipora area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday.

A senior police official told news agency JKNS that the joint operation of 27 Assam Riffles along with Jammu and Kashmir police apprehended OGW during naka checking at Ketsun Binlipora.

The OGW was apprehended identified as Bashir Ahmad of Halmatpora, Aloosa, aged about 48 years, was found in possession of one Chinese grenade and 11 rounds of an AK‑47 rifle, he said.

“A case has been registered under relevant sections at Police Station Bandipora, and further investigation is underway,” the officer added. (JKNS)
