Kulgam, June 30: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist at the Nipora crossing along National Highway-44 on Monday evening, officials said.
An official told that, a motorcycle was hit by a speeding truck bearing registration number JK03J 1119 at Nipora crossing, resulting in the instant death of the rider. The truck driver fled from the spot following the accident.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Amin Chopan, son of Habib Ullah Chopan, a resident of Chekbadwani, Kurigam Qazigund.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and have launched an investigation into the matter. Further details are awaited.
