MLA Bijbehara Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri Released After Displaying Pistol License

Srinagar – Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri, Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Bijbehara constituency and a National Conference leader, was briefly detained today at Srinagar Airport after airport security discovered two rounds of ammunition in his baggage during routine scanning.

MLA Veeri, who was en route to Jammu, was taken to Police Station Humhama for questioning. However, he was released shortly afterward upon presenting a valid license for his pistol, clarifying the presence of the ammunition.

The incident caused brief concern but was promptly resolved, with MLA Veeri continuing his travel plans.
