Srinagar, July 5: As part of the ongoing preparations for the 10th of Muharram, Minister Sakeena Itoo visited the Imam Baras at Shahoo to review arrangements and ensure a peaceful and dignified observance of Ashura.
During her visit, the Minister interacted with members of the Shia community and local residents, stressing the importance of upholding dignity, safety, and communal harmony during the sacred observance.
She instructed concerned officials to guarantee the presence of medical teams, uninterrupted essential services, foolproof security, proper sanitation, sufficient lighting, clean drinking water, and smooth traffic regulation along all procession routes.
Reiterating the government’s commitment, Minister Itoo assured full support to the mourners and emphasized preserving the spiritual sanctity of the occasion.
