Maroof Khan Demands Salary Hike & regularisation for Daily Wagers & SPOs.

Calls for Immediate Ban on Alcohol

Urges Govt to organise Public Darbar’s Across District’s for addressing public grievances.

Srinagar, 24th Feb: Political Youth Leader Maroof Khan has strongly urged the government to take immediate action on key issues affecting thousands of workers in the region. In his latest statement, Khan emphasized the urgent need to increase the salaries of Special Police Officers (SPOs) and expedite the regularization of casual and daily wagers who have been serving under uncertain conditions for years.

Khan pointed out that while the elected government has full authority over administrative matters—except law and order—it must prioritize public welfare. He stressed that workers who dedicate their lives to public service deserve financial stability and job security.

In addition to issues, Maroof Khan made a strong appeal for the immediate closure of all alcohol and wine shops in Jammu & Kashmir. He expressed his full support for the Private Members’ Bill in the Assembly, which seeks to impose a complete ban on alcohol sales in the region. Khan highlighted the detrimental impact of alcohol on society, particularly on the youth, and called for decisive action to protect J&K’s cultural and social fabric.

Furthermore, he urged the government to increase public outreach by organizing more public durbars in various districts, allowing people to voice their concerns directly to the authorities.

“The real strength of governance lies in addressing public grievances, ensuring fair wages, and safeguarding societal values. The time for action is now,” Khan asserted.
