Man booked in Bandipora for spreading extremist content on Social Media

Bandipora, Apr 20: Police in Bandipora have registered a case and arrested one individual for operating a Facebook page under the name “Kashmir Timer” allegedly used to circulate radical content and promote anti-national sentiments.

Police spokesperson as reported by news agency said, The accused, identified as Aijaz Ahmad Wani, son of Gh Hassan Wani and a resident of Bangar Mohalla Hajin, was reportedly using the platform to post misleading material targeting security forces and glorifying secessionist ideology. A case under FIR No. 31/2025 has been registered at Police Station Hajin, and investigations are underway.

Officials said Bandipora police are closely monitoring digital activity to crack down on content that threatens public peace or promotes violence. “Any attempt to glorify terrorism, promote secessionism, or malign national institutions will be dealt with sternly,” they said.

Police also urged social media users to exercise responsibility and avoid violating legal boundaries. “Strict legal action will follow in all cases of digital misuse,” reads the statement.
