Jammu, January 19(GNS): Police on Sunday said that it have arrested a man for mercilessly beating his two minor children, aged five and three years, in the Panchari area of District Udhampur. In a handout to GNS, the police said that the incident came to light after a disturbing video went viral on social media, showing Sudesh Kumar S/O Late Sh. Parkash Chand R/O Naagni Chulna brutally assaulting his children.The police spokesman further said that upon becoming aware of the viral video, a team of Police Station Panchari was promptly deployed to investigate the matter. The accused Sudesh Kumar, was detained for questioning, and the children were immediately rescued from his custody, he said.In connection with the incident, the accused has been arrested preventively. The children have been handed over to their relatives for their safety and care, reads the statement.(GNS)
