Kulgam Police Arrest Two OGWs Linked to TRF/LeT; Arms and Ammunition Recovered

Kulgam, Dec 5[TKD]: The Kulgam Police apprehended two Over Ground Workers (OGWs) associated with The Resistance Front (TRF)/Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit during an operation in the Ghulab Bagh area of Qazigund.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Altaf Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Ahad Lone, a resident of Kachoora Zadoora, and Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Rashid Bhat, a resident of Nipora, Mirbazar. Acting on credible intelligence inputs, the police recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.

An FIR (No. 262/2024) has been registered under relevant sections of the law at Police Station Qazigund, and further investigations are underway to uncover the extent of their involvement in militancy-related activities.

The operation marks a significant success in the ongoing efforts to curb militancy in the region. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring peace and security in South Kashmir.
