Health Minister Sakina Itoo Cracks Whip on SMHS Negligence, Orders Strict Measures for Accountability

Srinagar, July 25 (TKD): In the wake of a recent incident at SMHS Hospital Srinagar, Health Minister Sakina Itoo paid a surprise visit to the facility on Thursday to assess the situation and ensure accountability.

Expressing concern over the alleged negligence, the Minister announced a formal inquiry into the matter and warned of stern action against any doctors or staff found guilty. “No one will be spared if found compromising patient care,” she asserted.

Highlighting a lapse in duty, Sakina Itoo revealed that several doctors had reportedly abandoned their posts following the incident, leaving patients in distress. She confirmed that disciplinary action would be taken against those who failed in their responsibilities.

To ensure better discipline and public accountability, the Minister also directed the hospital administration to enforce a dress code, making it mandatory for all doctors to wear aprons with a clearly marked ‘Doctor’ sticker for identification.

“The government is committed to protecting the rights of patients and ensuring efficient healthcare delivery. Negligence will not be tolerated,” Sakina Itoo emphasized during her visit.
