Srinagar, Nov 13 – A fierce encounter broke out today in the Badimarg area of Yaripora in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, following a search operation launched by a joint team of security forces. Acting on intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the area, security personnel initiated a cordon-and-search operation early Wednesday.
According to officials, as the forces closed in on the suspected hideout, terrorists opened fire, sparking a heavy exchange of gunfire.
