DGP R.R Swain Makes Mandatory Full Uniform for Police Personnel

Srinagar: The Director General of Police (DGP), R.R Swain Wednesday issued a strict directive to all police personnel in Jammu and Kashmir regarding mandatory uniform compliance.

News agency KDC reported sources as saying that DGP has expressed deep concern over the growing instances of policemen not adhering to the prescribed uniform while on duty.

“To address this issue, a strict uniform code will be enforced across the entire UT from tomorrow afternoon,” they said.

“All police personnel, including those on escort duty, have been instructed to wear the standard khaki uniform without exception. The use of T-shirts or any other casual attire while on duty has been strictly prohibited,” they said, adding to ensure compliance, the DGP has directed that the supervisory officers of any policeman found violating the uniform code will be held accountable and face disciplinary action.
