Baramulla, July 5 (TKD): Amid the dynamic sporting action of Varmul Gindo 2025, the snooker matches held at B Town Club in Khawaja Bagh delivered a masterclass in focus, finesse, and fortitude. With over 180 spectators in attendance, three gripping matches unfolded, highlighting the cerebral charm of cue sports and showcasing Baramulla’s rising snooker talent.
Emerging victorious were local cueists Nayeem, Azam, and Mohsin—each representing a unique journey into the world of snooker.
Among the standout performers, 21-year-old Nayeem captivated the audience with his disciplined gameplay and poised presence. Once a passionate footballer, an injury redirected his path to the snooker table. What began as a form of recovery soon turned into dedication. His sharp calculations and steely calm earned admiration from peers and fans alike.
Azam, a college student, impressed with his quick reflexes and tactical precision. Balancing education and snooker with impressive maturity, Azam spoke of the game’s transformative effect on his personality, instilling patience and mental resilience.
The final match of the day belonged to Mohsin, who displayed remarkable strategic depth and mental composure. Inspired by his elder brother and shaped under the guidance of a local coach, Mohsin’s progress reflects the nurturing environment snooker now enjoys in Baramulla.
Organized under Chinar YUVA as part of Operation Sadbhavana, the snooker segment at Varmul Gindo is doing more than awarding trophies—it’s mentoring young players, fostering discipline, and giving new meaning to sportsmanship in the valley.
As the cues were rested and silence returned to the snooker hall, one sentiment echoed through the crowd: Baramulla’s youth are not just playing—they are thriving, and snooker is becoming a promising path of growth, focus, and opportunity.
