Srinagar, June 21: The much-anticipated Bemina Bypass flyover is set to open to the public by the end of June 2024, providing significant relief to commuters in the region. However, officials have indicated that if weather conditions are unfavorable, the opening may be delayed to the first week of July.
An official from the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department stated that construction is nearly complete, with only the macadamisation of one side remaining. “The macadamisation will be finished by the last week of June, provided the weather is favorable,” the official said, adding that the flyover could be opened either by the end of June or the beginning of July, depending on weather conditions.
Ashaq Ahmad, Executive Engineer of the Bypass Division in the R&B Department, confirmed that work on all three crucial bridges of the bypass junction is ongoing. He reiterated that the Bemina Bypass Flyover would be operational by the end of June or early July.
Additionally, Ahmad provided updates on other infrastructure projects, noting that the Nowgam project is expected to be completed by July, while the Sanat Nagar bridge construction is projected to be finished by late December 2024 or January 2025.
