Avoid Collective Punishment After Pahalgam Incident: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to Govt

Srinagar, April 27: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Sunday said called on the authorities to stop collective punishment while while seeking justice for Pahalgam victims.

In a post on X, Mirwaiz stated, “While Kashmiris collectively condemn the heinous crime at Pahalgam, and it is imperative to bring its perpetrators to justice, indiscriminate arrests and videos circulating on social media of demolition of houses and neighbourhoods, is disturbing and distressing. I urge the authorities, that in seeking justice for the innocent victims not to punish innocent Kashmiri families.”

Mirwaiz appealed to the authorities to ensure that innocent families are not subjected to collective punishment while pursuing those responsible.
