Two-Day Programme on NDPS Act Organised by ZPHQ Kashmir and NCB J&K

Srinagar, Dec 05(TKD): A two-day training programme on the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, organized by the Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ) Kashmir in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Jammu & Kashmir, was inaugurated today at Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir. The event was kickstarted by IGP Kashmir Shri V.K Birdi-IPS.

In his inaugural address, IGP Kashmir highlighted the critical role of stringent enforcement of the NDPS Act in combating the rising menace of drug abuse and illicit trafficking. He stressed the importance of equipping officers with specialized training to enhance their awareness, refine investigative skills, and strengthen collaborative efforts to curb drug-related crimes. Shri Birdi also emphasized the adoption of innovative methods and actionable strategies to address the growing challenge of drug abuse in the region–(TKD)

The NCB team, led by Superintendent NCB Jammu Shri Raj Kumar Shah, provided detailed insights into investigative procedures related to NDPS cases. The workshop includes interactive sessions, discussions, and hands-on training, aimed at enhancing the capacity of law enforcement officers in tackling drug trafficking and abuse.

This initiative represents a significant step towards reinforcing the collective fight against the drug menace in Jammu & Kashmir.
