ANANTNAG, July 14 (TKD):
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) organized a workers’ conference in the Chittergul area of South Kashmir, with an impressive show of unity and renewed resolve to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
Senior PDP leaders including MLA Pulwama Waheed ur Rehman Parra, former MLA Zahoor Ahmad Mir, former MLA Shangus Gulzar Ahmad Wani, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, and Choudhary Haroon Khatana addressed the gathering. The event saw enthusiastic participation from party workers and local supporters.
In his address, MLA Waheed ur Rehman Parra launched a scathing attack on former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, accusing him of surrendering before the central government from the very first day of his tenure. “He has failed to deliver on his promises—from addressing the plight of casual labourers to the controversial Waqf Amendment Act,” Parra remarked.
Taking a strong dig at Omar Abdullah’s recent visit to West Bengal to promote tourism, Parra questioned the CM’s priorities: “Instead of participating in the congregational prayers at Mazaar-e-Shohada, he chose to be in Bengal. Ironically, I was placed under house arrest when he arrived late in the evening.”
PDP leaders collectively emphasized the need to reinvigorate the party’s presence at the grassroots and asserted their commitment to standing with the people of Kashmir during politically challenging times.(TKD)
