Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has issued a stern response to Pakistan, asserting that India’s recent actions were strictly defensive and a direct response to Pakistan’s provocations. Emphasizing the precision and restraint of India’s approach, Misri stated, “No military targets have been targeted; only terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan has been hit.”
Addressing the media, Misri highlighted Pakistan’s contradictory stance at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). “While discussions were ongoing about the Pahalgam attack, Pakistan opposed the mention of the role of The Resistance Front (TRF), even though TRF publicly claimed responsibility for the attack—twice,” he pointed out.
Referring to official statements from senior Indian military officers, Misri added, “Col Qureshi and Wing Commander Singh made it clear—both yesterday and today—that India’s response is non-escalatory, precise, and measured. Our intention is not to escalate matters; we are only responding to the escalation initiated from the other side.”
