The Kashmir Dialogues
Srinagar, 19 Sep:– The National Loktantrik Party (NLP) of Jammu and Kashmir strongly condemned the statements made by certain politicians, particularly from the Awami Ittihad Party (AIP), accusing them of inciting communalism for political gain. The controversial slogans, such as “RAFIZ BANIWAH,” targeting a specific community, have sparked outrage, as these actions are perceived as an attempt to divide the public along communal lines in order to secure votes.
In an official statement released today, Muhammad Yaqoob Dunoo, Incharge Central Kashmir, NLP expressed deep concern over the rising communal rhetoric. “It is disheartening to witness politicians stooping to such levels, creating divisions among people by raising inflammatory slogans. Such actions not only harm the social fabric of our society but also violate the principles of peaceful coexistence,” said Yaqoob Dunoo
The National Loktantrik Party urged the administration of Jammu and Kashmir to take strict action against those responsible for such divisive statements. “We request the administration to intervene immediately and hold these individuals accountable. No one should be allowed to promote hatred for political benefits,” Yaqoob Dunoo added.
The NLP emphasized that political leaders should focus on issues that unite people rather than inflaming communal tensions. They reiterated their commitment to fostering harmony and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
The party’s condemnation comes amid heightened political tensions ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, where several parties have been accused of using divisive tactics to rally support.
