Eight Amarnath Pilgrims Injured as Truck Rams into Innova in Udhampur

Udhampur, July 18 (TKD): A road accident in the Battal Ballian area of Udhampur district on Friday morning left eight Amarnath pilgrims injured after a truck collided with their Innova vehicle.

According to officials, the pilgrims were returning from the Pahalgam route of the Amarnath Yatra when a speeding truck (PB65AV-9318) crashed into their vehicle (UP81BN-3701), causing a major jolt.

Three of the passengers sustained minor injuries and were treated on the spot. However, five others suffered moderate to serious injuries and were swiftly shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Associated Hospital in Udhampur for further medical care.

Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the collision.
