Delhi Court Seeks Transfer of J&K Terror-Funding Case to MP-Designated Court

New Delhi, Nov 21: A Delhi court has requested the District Judge to transfer a Jammu and Kashmir terror-funding case to a court designated for lawmakers after noting that one of the accused, Engineer Rashid, is now a Member of Parliament.

Additional Sessions Judge Chander Jit Singh, who was scheduled to rule on Rashid’s bail application, referred the case to the District Judge. The matter is expected to be heard on November 25.

Rashid, elected from Baramulla in the recent Lok Sabha elections, has been in Tihar Jail since 2019. He was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in connection with a 2017 terror-funding case.
