Construction of Z-Morh Tunnel is an Infrastructural Revolution: Sheikh Aijaz

Ganderbal, Jan 13: A number of tunnels have been inaugurated in J&K on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in recent years, including the Nashri Tunnel, Qazigund Tunnel, and others, which have significantly eased traffic movement. However, the completion of the Z-Morh Tunnel on the Srinagar-Leh Highway marks a new revolution for the economy, tourism, and defense in J&K and Ladakh, as it holds greater strategic importance than other tunnels in the region. It is noteworthy that the Congress regime at the Centre approved all these tunnels during its tenure, with Congress leaders laying their foundations. When the BJP came to power at the Centre, they continued these projects with full commitment, and senior BJP leaders, including Nitin Gadkari and Narendra Modi, inaugurated the tunnels upon their completion. When Rahul Gandhi laid the foundation stone of the Z-Morh Tunnel on the Srinagar-Leh Highway in 2010, it symbolized hope and a commitment to bringing development and opportunities closer to the region. Today, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates this tunnel, this vision is being realized, ushering in a new era for the people of this region. This tunnel is not just a passage through the mountains; it is a lifeline that will promote tourism, trade, and unity. It represents India’s unwavering resolve to connect its remotest areas to the national mainstream, ensuring no one is left behind in the journey of progress. It is a tribute to the indomitable spirit of the people who call this land their home and their steadfast faith in a brighter tomorrow. The Z-Morh Tunnel is not merely a physical structure but a testament to what determination and vision can achieve. It is a bridge to dreams, a path to possibilities, and a milestone in India’s journey toward inclusive development. With this tunnel now open to the public, it marks the beginning of a legacy—a legacy of hope, resilience, and shared prosperity.
