Choudhary Gulzar Ahmad Khatana Rejoins Congress, Vows to Champion People’s Cause in J&K

In a politically significant development, senior leader Choudhary Gulzar Ahmad Khatana officially rejoined the Indian National Congress at the PCC Head Office Srinagar, reaffirming his commitment to the party’s ideology and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The joining ceremony was marked by a show of unity and strength, attended by a host of senior Congress leaders, including AICC General Secretary and Incharge J&K Dr. Naseer Hussain (MP), PCC President Tariq Hameed Karra, AICC General Secretary and CWC Member Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Former PCC President Peerzada Mohammad Syed, Ex-Minister Raman Bhalla, AICC Secretaries Manoj Yadav and Smt. Divya, Choudhary Shahnawaz, IYC President Udai Bano Chib, Shri Neeraj Kundan, Ex-MP Lal Singh, and many others.

Addressing the gathering, Choudhary Gulzar Ahmad Khatana expressed heartfelt gratitude to his supporters and workers of the Kokernag Constituency, acknowledging their unwavering loyalty and support throughout his political journey.

“I am equally thankful to my colleagues, supporters, and grassroots workers of Kokernag Constituency whose dedication and loyalty have remained steadfast throughout my career,” he said.

Reiterating his faith in the Congress ideology, Khatana emphasized, “Congress is the only solution to resolve the demands and to do justice with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”

His return to the party is being viewed as a morale booster for the Congress in South Kashmir, particularly in Kokernag and adjoining areas. Party leaders welcomed him back into the fold and expressed hope that his presence will strengthen the party’s grassroots connect and further the cause of development, peace, and justice in the region.

The event concluded with a collective resolve to intensify efforts for the restoration of democratic rights, economic revival, and equitable governance across Jammu and Kashmir.
