On January 22nd, 2026, 15 farmers, escorted by 2 Sericulture Department officials from Haryana, visited the Central Silk Board – P4, Basic Seed Farm (a nested unit of CSB-CSR&TI-Pampore) Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India, Manasbal, Ganderbal. The visit aimed to familiarize the farmers with bivoltine sericulture practices in North Indian states. The farmers received training on mulberry nursery raising through stem cuttings and disease management in mulberry and silkworm rearing. Success stories of bivoltine sericulture from the Kashmir Valley were presented to the farmers. The visit included a trip to the Seri Museum, where Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Scientist D / Officer In-charge, and staff highlighted the significance of sericulture and demonstrated various products and by-products. These included cocoon crafts, mulberry products, silk-based items, and cosmetics. Additionally, the farmers gained knowledge on post-cocoon activities and acquired a thorough understanding of bivoltine sericulture.
