Srinagar, Aug 26:
Renowned social and peace activist Mudasir Dar has been conferred with the 15th Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Award 2025 and the International Buddha Peace Award 2025 in recognition of his remarkable contributions to peacebuilding, social empowerment, and youth engagement.
The awards were presented by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha and Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale at a ceremony graced by eminent personalities, policymakers, and civil society leaders.
Widely known for his grassroots initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir, Dar has led several efforts to counter radicalization, foster communal harmony, and empower youth through education, sports, and cultural activities. His work has transformed many conflict-affected communities, channeling young people’s energy towards constructive nation-building.
Expressing gratitude, Dar dedicated the honour to the “resilient youth of Jammu and Kashmir,” stressing that peace and justice must remain the foundation of social transformation, in line with the ideals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Lord Buddha.
The dual recognition marks a significant acknowledgement of Dar’s pioneering efforts in promoting inclusive development, interfaith harmony, and national integration both in India and on global platforms.
