Udhampur, — June 16, 2025:
In a landmark ceremony held at the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) in Udhampur, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed the Passing-out Parade of newly trained Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySsP) and Probationary Sub-Inspectors (PSIs). A total of 49 DySsPs and 1112 PSIs formally joined the ranks of the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), marking a significant milestone in the region’s law enforcement landscape.
Describing the occasion as a “new dawn,” LG Sinha praised the skillful and synchronised parade that demonstrated the discipline, dedication, and commitment of the young officers. Addressing the new recruits, he urged them to uphold the values, traditions, and ethos of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, which he described as a force admired across the nation for its professional competence and unwavering resolve in the face of multifaceted security challenges.
“Our brave personnel have time and again proven their mettle by combating terrorism with courage and determination. The nation holds them in high regard,” the LG stated. He emphasized that the police must serve as guardians of peace, development, and societal stability, while rooting their service in ancient Indian values of truth, justice, law, morality, and good governance.
Reiterating the government’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, LG Sinha stressed that the complete eradication of terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir remains a top priority. He called on the JKP to adopt a multi-pronged strategy, incorporating advanced intelligence, community engagement, modern technology, and inter-agency collaboration to strengthen their operational capabilities.
“The responsibility upon your shoulders is immense. You are not just enforcers of law, but custodians of a hopeful future for Jammu and Kashmir,” he told the probationers.
