Union Budget 2025-26: J&K to Receive ₹41,000 Crore Central Assistance

Srinagar, Feb 01: The Union Government has proposed an allocation of ₹41,000.07 crore to the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir for the financial year 2025-26.As part of fund transfers for Union Territories, the Union Finance Ministry has earmarked this amount to support the region’s financial needs. Notably, there has been no increase in central assistance for J&K in the latest Union Budget.Out of the total allocation, ₹40,619.30 crore has been designated as central assistance to bridge the resource gap of the Union Territory. Additionally, ₹279 crore has been allocated as grants towards the Union Territory Disaster Response Fund, and ₹101.77 crore is earmarked to meet the resource gap funding for infrastructure projects.Meanwhile, the financial assistance for Jammu & Kashmir for the ongoing fiscal has been revised to ₹41,000.07 crore from the earlier ₹42,277.74 crore.
