No Votes Cast at Kanyari Ghat Polling Station in Bandipora as Locals Protest

Sonawari, Bandipora : No votes have been cast so far at Polling Station 142 in Kanyari Ghat, located in the Sonawari Assembly Constituency of Bandipora district. Despite a total of 516 registered voters, the polling station remains idle.

Local residents have voiced their frustrations, stating that they have been deprived of basic facilities such as proper roads, clean drinking water, adequate housing, and land ownership.

According to them, repeated appeals to the government have gone unheard, leading to their decision to abstain from voting.

In an attempt to assess the situation, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat and Tehsildar Hajin visited the polling station. However, their presence has not yet swayed the locals, who remain firm in their stance. The residents have made it clear that unless the Deputy Commissioner of Bandipora ensures a commitment to resolving their longstanding
