AIP and Jamaat-e-Islami Forge Strategic Alliance Ahead of Jammu & Kashmir Elections

Srinagar, 15-Sept: In a significant political development, the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) have announced a strategic alliance to champion the cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The joint meeting, held today, was led by AIP Supremo and Member of Parliament Er Rashid, AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi, and JEI’s delegation under the leadership of Ghulam Qadir Wani, along with other prominent JEI members.

The central focus of the meeting was the current political scenario in Jammu and Kashmir, where both parties emphasized the need for collective efforts to address the pressing issues of the region. Following thorough discussions, the parties agreed that AIP will support JEI-backed candidates in Kulgam and Pulwama, while JEI will extend support to AIP candidates across Kashmir.

In constituencies where both AIP and JEI have fielded candidates, the two parties have agreed on a “friendly contest,” particularly in Langate, Devsar, and Zainapora. Elsewhere, they pledged mutual backing to ensure a unified electoral approach.

Both parties underscored the significance of unity in resolving the Kashmir issue and working toward lasting peace and political stability in the region. They recognized the rapidly shifting political landscape and stressed the urgency of their alliance, urging their cadres to promote mutual support for each other’s candidates.

This collaboration is seen as a critical step in achieving a united front for peace, justice, and political empowerment for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
