Tafazul Wani Expresses Concern Over Safety of Students Amidst Unrest

Srinagar:–11 Aug: Tafazul Wani Kashmir in-charge of the Shri Amarnath Yatra Welfare Society organisation has appealed to the central government to prioritize the safety of Indian residents and Kashmiri students in Bangladesh. The call comes amid escalating tensions in the neighboring country.

Wani expressed deep worry about the well-being of Indian nationals, particularly students, in light of the volatile situation in Bangladesh. He questioned the adequacy of current safety measures for these individuals, given the increasing unrest and reports of harassment.

“The safety of our citizens, especially students, abroad is paramount. While we are relieved that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is safe, we cannot ignore the plight of our students who remain in harm’s way,” Wani stated.

He further urged global leaders and religious figures to intervene and pressure Bangladesh and Pakistan to address the issue. Wani emphasized the need for direct communication between the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and Bangladesh military officials to guarantee the protection of Indian students.

Wani’s plea underscores the urgency of safeguarding the lives of Indian citizens abroad and highlights the government’s responsibility to provide immediate assistance and protection
