Srinagar, June 22 : Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, announced on Saturday that the administration and security forces have implemented special measures to ensure a smooth and secure Amarnath Yatra this year.
Addressing reporters at Rajbhawan in Srinagar, Sinha highlighted that preparations for the annual pilgrimage, set to commence on June 29, have been meticulously planned. He emphasized the deployment of a multi-layered security grid to safeguard pilgrims throughout their journey.
Furthermore, Sinha praised the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for widening the yatra routes, which he believes will facilitate hassle-free movement for pilgrims. He urged the people of Kashmir to uphold their tradition of supporting and facilitating the Yatra, expressing optimism that this year’s pilgrimage will be more successful and peaceful.
“Peaceful and smooth pilgrimages contribute positively to J&K’s image nationally and globally,” Sinha remarked.
The Amarnath Yatra, an annual Hindu pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave shrine in the Himalayas, is a significant event drawing devotees from across India.
