JDU State President GM Shaheen Slams National Conference for Welcoming JKPSI Scam Accused

Shaheen Condemns Political Shelter for Individuals Accused in Corruption Cases
Srinagar, 09 Jan:- Janata Dal United (JDU) State President GM Shaheen has strongly criticized the National Conference (NC) for allegedly providing a haven to individuals accused of serious corruption cases. His remarks came after a “kingpin” in the Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub-Inspector (JKPSI) recruitment scam, who was recently granted bail, joined the National Conference in the presence of its president, Dr. Farooq Abdullah.GM Shaheen accused the National Conference of prioritizing personal benefits over ethical governance by extending support to those embroiled in scandals. “It is deeply concerning that the National Conference continues to offer political shelter to scammers, undermining the public’s trust in the political system. This act further erodes the already fragile integrity of governance in Jammu and Kashmir,” Shaheen said in a press statement. The JDU leader questioned the NC’s moral compass, asserting that its actions reflect a pattern of promoting individuals implicated in criminal activities for political gain. “Time and again, the National Conference has demonstrated its willingness to accommodate those involved in fraudulent activities, ignoring the aspirations of honest citizens who yearn for accountability and transparency,” Shaheen added. The JKPSI scam, which rocked the region, involved alleged irregularities in the recruitment process, leading to widespread protests and legal scrutiny. Shaheen highlighted the damaging implications of such practices on the future of deserving youth, emphasizing the need for stringent measures against corruption. He urged the public to recognize and reject such political maneuvering, advocating for a political culture that values integrity and fairness over opportunistic alliances.”The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve leaders who work for the welfare of society, not those who exploit it for personal and political gains,” Shaheen further said.
