Two Militants Eliminated in Sopore Gunfight

SRINAGAR: A fierce encounter broke out in the Sagipora area of Sopore in Baramulla district, yesterevening after security forces launched a joint operation based on intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the Panipura area.As the security forces closed in, the militants opened fire, triggering a gun battle. In the ensuing exchange of fire, two unidentified militants were killed.

This marks the third encounter in North Kashmir in recent days, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region. The operation is still underway.
