Senior Journalist Beigh Irshad Likely to Contest Assembly Elections from Kangan Constituency

Ganderbal :In a surprising turn of events, well-known Journalist Beigh Irshad, who serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Valley Online, who has worked with several local and national dailies is reportedly set to enter the political arena.

Sources have informed that Irshad is likely to contest the upcoming Assembly elections from the Kangan ST Assembly Constituency.

This development marks a significant shift in Irshad’s career, as he transitions from Journalism to Politics.

The Kangan ST constituency, reserved for Scheduled Tribes, has traditionally been a key battleground in the region, making Irshad’s entry all the more noteworthy.

As the nomination deadline approaches, which is set for today, all eyes are on Beigh Irshad and his potential candidacy. If he decides to contest, his participation could introduce a new dynamic to the electoral landscape of Kangan.

Reports said that he will contest on AIP ticket and a huge number of people in Kangan especially youth have forced him to contest election’s.

“Yes we want a change in Kangan and we will support a new face and an unemployed educated youth can understand our feeling better” a local youth from Kangan told.

He said that bureaucrats and some families are ruling Kashmir from decades what we have got is just bloodshed.

He added that Irshad is well known, educated and has a potential, will support and campaign for him without any greed.

Meanwhile a close aid to Beigh Irshad confirmed that he was offered tickets by some local and national parties but he was not ready at this moment.

He said that it’s his decision whether we will choose any party or will contest independently.
