Pahalgam Trade & Civil Society Alliance Delegation Meets DC Anantnag, Seeks Reopening of Tourist Spots

Anantnag, September 24:
A delegation of the Pahalgam Trade & Civil Society Alliance, representing hoteliers, transporters, ponywallas, civil society members and other stakeholders, today met Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag and apprised him of the difficulties being faced by the local community following the closure of Biseran and several other tourist destinations.

The delegation expressed concern that the continued closure has adversely affected tourism-related activities in Pahalgam, impacting the livelihood of hundreds of families dependent on the sector. They urged the DC to take up their issues with Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha, and appealed for the immediate reopening of all closed tourist spots, including Aru Valley.

The DC gave a patient hearing to the members and assured them that their demands would be placed before the higher authorities for early and sympathetic consideration.
