JPDCL officials, Advocate among 16 accused booked in 5 FIRs for frauds

JAMMU, Oct 6: Crime Branch has registered five separate FIRs and booked sixteen (16) alleged accused including top executives of Chandigarh based company, Govt officials of JPDCL, Advocate, for multi-crore job scams, visa & document frauds and fraudulent withdrawal of huge Government funds.

An FIR has been registered against Choudhary Mushtaq, son of Mir Mohd, resident of Morian Manjakote, Rajouri and others for allegedly duping 41 candidates of Rs 1.43 crore on the pretext of providing jobs in Territorial Army and handing over fake appointment orders.

Another FIR has been registered against Hem Raj, son of Durga Chand and Kavya Nayyar, son of Ajay Kumar, both residents of Ward No.6 , H.No.8 Treath More Bari Brahmana, Samba for duping the complainant Avinash Singh of Bhaderwah, Doda of Rs 18.55 lakh on the false promise of providing job as Manager in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Katra .

Yet another FIR has been registered on the complaint of Prem Nath from Samba regarding Rs 17.09 lakh visa scam against owner & executives of Chandigarh based company , “M/S Saphire ” , namely Jass Bajwa , the owner of M/S Saphire, Yuvraj Singh Sandhu (the Manager), Gagan (the Counsellor), Devinder Singh (I/C Refund), Shalika (Authorized Signatory) and others of M/S Saphire , SCO No.64-65 , 3rd Floor , Sector 17-A , Chandigarh .

In compliance with the court directions issued on the application of retired Executive Engineer (Xen) Shakti Singh, an FIR has been registered against the officials of the office of Xen, JPDCL Batote for fraudulently withdrawing huge funds from the official Account of Xen by forging the complainant’s signatures after his retirement.

On the written complaint of one Nasir Ali of Mendhar, alleging preparing & using false, forged affidavit in SRO-43 process, an FIR has been registered against Usman Afzal, son of Late Mohd Afzal of Gohlad Mendhar, a woman of Mendhar and Advocate Mohd Wasim of Court Mendhar.

Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Jammu , Benam Tosh confirmed that five cases FIRs No. 59, 60, 61, 62 , 63 of 2025 have been registered at Police Station Crime Branch EOW Jammu and investigations are underway.
