DIG SKR Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo Inaugurates Police Martyrs Women’s T-20 Cricket Tournament

Anantnag, Nov 27 (TKD): In a significant initiative to honor the sacrifices of police martyrs and foster community engagement, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of South Kashmir Range, Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo, inaugurated the Police Martyrs Women’s T-20 Cricket Tournament at Government Degree College (GDC) Khanabal, Anantnag.

The tournament, featuring enthusiastic participation from women’s cricket teams across the region, aims to promote sports among women and highlight their growing role in the athletic sphere. Addressing the audience, DIG Matoo lauded the participants and emphasized the importance of remembering the valor of police personnel who laid down their lives for peace and security.

Adding to the day’s highlights, DIG Matoo also inaugurated a Dry Canteen and a Motor Transport (MT) Building at the District Police Lines (DPL) Anantnag. These facilities are geared towards enhancing the welfare of police personnel and bolstering operational readiness.

The dual initiatives underscore the commitment of the South Kashmir Police to honor its martyrs while strengthening its ties with the community through meaningful and welfare-centric activities.
