Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad (ABTYP) and RED DROP Organize Mega Blood Donation Camp Across Kashmir

Srinagar, Sept 17– In a significant initiative to address blood shortage and promote voluntary blood donation, the Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad (ABTYP), in association with RED DROP (a unit of dedicated blood donors), successfully organized a large-scale blood donation camp at various locations across the Kashmir Valley today.

The camp witnessed an overwhelming response from volunteers, social activists, and the general public, all coming forward to contribute to this life-saving cause. The event was organized with the support of the health administration and local hospital authorities.

Dr. Touseef Ahmed, Chairman of RED DROP, highlighted the national context of this drive. “Last year, the ABTYP, under its Mega Blood Donation Drive, created a national record by collecting an incredible 5 lakh pints of blood in a single day across the country. However, our purpose is not merely to create records but to foster a sense of duty and create lasting awareness among the youth about the critical need for regular blood donation,” he stated.

The event was graced by the presence of renowned philanthropists and dedicated blood donors, who served as an inspiration for all attendees. Shabir Hussain, famously known as the ‘Blood Man of Jammu & Kashmir’ for his record of donating blood 193 times, and Bilkees Ara, acknowledged as the ‘Blood Woman of Kashmir,’ were present to motivate and support the donors. Their lifelong commitment to the cause significantly boosted the morale of the volunteers.

Dr. Touseef Ahmed extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the partners who made the event possible. “We are profoundly thankful to the District Administration, the Director of Health Services, Kashmir, and the administration of LD Hospital for their unwavering support and cooperation. Their assistance was instrumental in ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of this camp across multiple locations,” he added.
Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuwak Parishad (ABTYP) is one of India’s largest youth organizations, with a massive network dedicated to social welfare, community service, and youth empowerment. Their nationwide mega blood donation drives are a cornerstone of their humanitarian activities.

The organizers praised the spirit of the Kashmiri people, whose enthusiastic participation underscored the community’s commitment to saving lives and supporting the healthcare system.
