Kulgam Police Attaches Property of Drug Peddler in Qazigund

Kulgam, Oct 26: In a significant move against drug trafficking, Kulgam Police on Saturday attached the property of a known drug peddler in the Nussu Badragund area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The property, a double-storied residential house, belongs to Imran Ahmad Ganie, son of the late Mohd Ramzan Ganie, currently held in Central Jail Kot Balwal, Jammu, under the PIT NDPS Act.

Police sources told news agency The Kashmir Chronicle, indicated that the action was taken under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act of 1985 in connection with case FIR no. 34/2024 of the NDPS Act filed at the Qazigund Police Station. The property was identified as illegally acquired during investigations.

“Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per the law,” police stated. They assured the community that actions against drug peddlers are part of ongoing efforts to curb the spread of drugs and maintain public safety.
